Design an LP cover for an Afro-Cuban band called Orchestra Baobab.
Research to Understand
I have watched the documentary video of the band in order to understand the band and its music.
During the documentary, I often found the band members in a confined room, such as the record shop or the kitchen, and I was inspired by them. Also, the small houses on the streets were are muses.
Mood Board
After watching the documentary video, I had a vague concept on the design: geometric shapes that represent the jazz soul of Orchestra Baobab. In order to have a more clear vision, I collected and created a mood board.

Basic Design Form
I created a 3D like a geometric grid in order to follow the original design concept.
Typography
It was time to make my design to have a more defined shape. In order to do that, I developed a typography that matches my original design concept: geometric shape.
I used a 5x6 grid system to create geometric letters and diversified the thickness of strokes in order to create a jazzy movement within the strokes.

Integrating Typography
After the typography system is established, I integrated it in the design.
